Stamford Man Pleads Guilty To Carjacking

STAMFORD, Conn. — A 20-year-old Stamford man pleaded guilty on Monday to grabbing a woman, throwing her to the ground and stealing her car in 2016, according to the Stamford Advocate.

On the night of June 12, 2016 a 23-year-old woman got out of her car outside an ATM to get money when Bryan Alfaro grabbed her, threw her to the ground and drove off in her car, the Stamford Advocate reported. He was eventually caught with the help of a Greenwich EMT when he stopped to get gas, according to the Stamford Advocate.

Alfaro pleaded guilty to first-degree larceny, third-degree robbery and car jacking, according to the Stamford Advocate. He faces up to seven years in prison when he is sentenced on Aug. 28, the Stamford Advocate reported. His lawyer said after he made his plea that Alfaro just wanted to go for a joy ride and that he regretted his actions, according to the Stamford Advocate.
