Stamford Man Hit in Face With Bottle at Party

STAMFORD, Conn. — Stamford Police are searching for a Hispanic man who hit another man in the face with a bottle at a party early Sunday morning, Sgt. William Hnatuk said.

The victim told police he was at a party on Morgan Street when he was hit with a bottle for no apparent reason, Hnatuk said. The victim did not know his assailant, but described him as a short, Hispanic male with black hair and wearing a red and white striped shirt, Hnatuk said.

The incident was reported by emergency room personnel at Stamford Hospital after they treated the victim for a laceration on the left side of his face that looked like a knife wound, Hnatuk said. The victim was not sure who brought him to the hospital, and said they dropped him off and left, the sergeant said.

He also told police that people at the party told him not to speak to the police, Hnatuk said.

The case is being handled by the detectives bureau, Hnatuk said.
