Jonathan Catchings entered a guilty plea Friday to first-degree manslaughter charges in the shooting of Raymond Hayward, 25, at the Richmond Hill-Rose Park avenue intersection in May 2011, the Advocate said.
The victim was shot three times early May 27, 2011, said Assistant State’s Attorney Michelle Manning, according to the report. Catchings was charged a week later with murder, said the Stamford Advocate.
When tried, Catchings faced 60 prison years if he was convicted of murder, said the Advocate.
“My client never meant to kill the victim in this case,” his attorney said.
