Stamford Democrats Make Endorsements for November

STAMFORD, Conn. — The Stamford Democratic City Committee endorsed its local candidates Wednesday night for this November’s elections.

The state Senate nominees were endorsed earlier this week and went to incumbent Carlo Leone for the 27th District, which covers parts of Stamford and Darien, and Dan Dauplaise for the 36th District, which covers parts of Stamford and Greenwich.

Michael Pollard earned the endorsement for the 144th House District and will run alongside current state Reps. Patricia Billie Miller, 145th District; Gerry Fox III, 146th District; William Tong, 147th District in Stamford and New Canaan; and Dan Fox, 148th District.

The candidates for the state legislature seats touted being a team and working together at the state level. They said they hope to make it even stronger with a clean sweep and adding Pollard and Dauplaise to the team. “We need to show the Republicans who runs this town,” Tong said the cheers of his fellow Democrats.

Current board President Dr. Polly Rauh and challengers Delores Burgess and Eva Padilla will run for three available seats on the Board of Education.

Annie Summerville defeated Ron Malloy, 22-17-1, to replace Alice Fortunato as the Democratic registrar of voters in the only contested endorsement of the evening.
