Stamford Court Opens After Suspicious Package Scare

Updated 1:30 p.m.: People are being allowed back into the Stamford Superior Court building. 

Updated 1:23 p.m.: The bomb squad has left, but the Stamford Superior Court building is still closed. 

The closure of the court house delayed the arraignment of Frank Douglas, a suspect in a robbery. Police say Stamford Officer Troy Strauser suffered critical injuries after falling from a Norwalk bridge while chasing Douglas early Thursday. 

STAMFORD, Conn. — A police bomb squad was investigating a suspicious package at the Stamford Superior Court at midday Friday.

The Hoyt Street building has been evacuated. The courthouse will be closed until at least 2 p.m.
