Stamford Bicyclist Treated for Hit-Run Injuries

STAMFORD, Conn. -- A 24-year-old Stamford bicyclist found lying in the street with a serious head injury is being treated at Stamford Hospital. Police say he was struck by a hit-and-run driver in the early morning hours of July 16 at the intersection of South Street and Atlantic Street.

The vehicle that struck the bike was either turning onto South Street from Atlantic or exiting from the northbound ramp of I-95, a police department release said, and the bicyclist was riding in or near the crosswalk.

The Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Squad is reviewing closed circuit camera feeds from the area as well as analyzing physical evidence found at the scene.

Anyone with information about the driver of the vehicle can call the Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Squad, at (203) 977-4712. The driver or his or her attorney can also call that number.
