Stamford Ballet Goes on the Road

The dancers with the Ballet School of Stamford will perform at two very different events on Saturday. One is for an "enchanting" fundraiser highlighting different cultures; the other is for a group that makes its cultural contribution by "enhancing" structural surroundings.

The first performance will be for the Junior League of Greenwich as it presents "The Enchanted Forest," its holiday event in support of the Boys & Girls Club. The fundraiser will take place at the Hyatt Regency Greenwich in Old Greenwich. The theme this year is Passport to the World. The Ballet School will perform from 2:15 to 2:45 p.m. Saturday, in a return engagement after participating for the past two years.

"We are delighted to be part of the Junior League of Greenwich's annual holiday event, and our dancers love the opportunity to perform in front of a live audience," said Marti Etter, the ballet's executive director. "Every year, we enjoy introducing the school's dancers to the young children who are visiting the event. And we love showing them dance steps to give them a taste of ballet in a special holiday setting."

The dancers probably won't be teaching steps in their second appearance as they regale members of the Society of Indo-American Engineers and Architects during the group's 30th Annual Gala in New York City. The organization's motto is "Committed to Enhancing Infrastructure."
