Carey, 34, was being treated for postpartum depression under a doctor’s supervision and was being taken off her medication, the sisters said.
Her mental capacity was fine, the sisters said – contrary to what authorities have said about Carey having a political agenda with the White House.
Carey was driving Thursday, Oct. 3 with her 13-month-old daughter in the backseat of the car when she used her vehicle to crash through a White House barricade, which led to the chase around one of Washington’s highest security areas. She also allegedly struck a police officer in the process of fleeing.
"She was not walking around delusional, which is what we want the public to understand,” Amy Carey Jones told Lauer. “She was not delusional.”
