Seymour Wilk, 92, Stamford Native

STAMFORD, Conn. — Former Stamford resident Seymour Wilk, 92, died July 7 at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport.

Born and raised in Stamford, Wilk graduated from the University of North Carolina before joining the Army during World War II. After the war, he worked for the Hudson Paper Company, which was owned by his family, until he retired in 1988.

Wilk is survived by his wife, Ruth Wilk; his children, Judith Wilk, Richard Wilk and his wife, Bonnie, Marcia Rayman and her husband, Steve, and Joyci Fodiman and her husband, Steve; 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his former wife, Doris Levine Silverstein. He was predeceased by his brother, Milton Wilk, and his sister, Vivian Blatt.

A memorial will be held on Wilk’s birthday, Thursday, July 21, at 11 a.m. in Temple Beth El. Funeral arrangements were handled by Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home.
