STAMFORD, Conn. A 53-year-old man from Rye, N.Y., was found dead on the Stamford side of the Mianus River Park late Sunday night. The death appeared to be a suicide, police said.
Greenwich police received a missing person report Sunday night and learned from the man's wife that he liked going to the park. Authorities began searching there shortly after 8 p.m., Capt. Richard Conklin said. About 90 minutes into the search, police found the mans car and the man, who had died by hanging, Conklin said.
The authorities used a global position system to determine that the body was in Stamford and turned the investigation over to Stamford police.
Conklin declined to release the mans name and other information until he was positive the mans family had been notified.
