Police: Woman Sexually Assaulted in Stamford

STAMFORD, Conn. — A Norwalk woman was robbed and sexually assaulted around 2 a.m. Thursday on Richmond Hill Avenue in Stamford, police said.

The victim told police she was walking to the train station with a Stamford man when they were approached by a Hispanic man with a knife demanding money, police said. The male companion ran away as the woman had her purse taken and was assaulted, police said.

The suspect, described as being in his mid-20s with spiky brown hair, was last seen wearing a white jacket and jeans and running west bound on Richmond Hill, police said. Police canvassed the area, but were unable to find the suspect. They also checked the security footage from RBS, but were unable to make anything out.

The victim was carrying $40 in cash, several credit cards, and her identification. All of it was taken, police said.
