Police Seek Witnesses to Downtown Crash

Stamford Police are seeking witnesses to a Monday evening crash between a motorcycle and a pick-up truck that sent two people to the hospital and jammed downtown traffic for three hours. 

The crash occurred on Washington Boulevard at Broad Street at 7:14 p.m. According to police, a Chevrolet S-10 pick-up driven by Louis Capone, 57, of Clara Drive, Norwalk, was traveling eastbound on Broad Street when it collided with a Harley-Davidson ridden by Ricky Jensen, 50, of Mansfield Avenue, Darien, who was headed northbound on Washington Boulevard. Jensen was carrying a passenger, Laura Mix, 47, of Lakeview Drive, Stamford.

 After the two vehicles collided, both Jensen and Mix were thrown from the motorcycle. They were taken to Stamford Hospital. Neither was wearing a helmet, according to police. 

The SPD continues to investigate and charges in the case are pending. Officer Jeffrey Booth and Sgt. Andrew Gallagher are heading the investigation. Witnesses should contact the Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Squad at (203) 977-4712.
