Police Name Stamford Bank Robbery Suspects

STAMFORD, Conn. — Police are searching for Kevin Bolden and Moneek Grant in connection with the Monday robbery of Citizen’s Bank in downtown Stamford, a press release said.

Police said Bolden, 46, most recently of New Haven, walked into the bank and handed the teller a note requesting cash and then left in a gray-colored Volvo headed south on Atlantic Street. A red dye pack was stashed in one of the bundles of cash and exploded in the vehicle, police said.

Bolden’s name came up after Cory Castera of Stamford’s forensic department, lifted his fingerprint off of the demand note, Capt. Richard Conklin said.

He is considered a career criminal and has an extensive record, which includes an active warrant out for his arrest for a bank robbery in Woodbridge, police said. He is considered to be armed and dangerous, police said.

Conklin added there are “a lot of similarities” between the Citizen’s Bank and Woodbridge bank robberies to a bank robbery that took place late Thursday in Greenwich, as well as the March 12 robbery of People’s United Bank in Stamford. Warrants have not yet been issued in either of the other robberies, he said.

Police expect Bolden is with Grant, 34, of New Haven, who also is a person of interest with the case, police said. There is no warrant for her arrest, but police do have questions for her and suspect her of being in the vehicle at the time of the robbery, Conklin said.

The Volvo Bolden is suspected of driving is a 1990 station wagon with Connecticut license plates containing “904,” Conklin said.
