Norwalk Man Charged With Carrying 23 Bags Of Pot Into Stamford Court

NORWALK, Conn. -- A Norwalk man was detained in Stamford Superior Court on Wednesday after he attempted to enter the building with 23 bags of marijuana in his pants, according to Connecticut State Police.

Joseph A. Carey, 25, attempted to enter the court house through the metal detectors, state police said. Officers said Carey failed to follow directions and had an abnormal bulge in his pants, police said. 

Officials ordered Carey to unzip his pants and found a plastic container with 23 bags of a leafy substance that appeared to be marijuana in it, police said. 

Carey was charged with possession of 25.2 grams of marijuana and possession with intent to sell. He will appear in court on Thursday, police said.
