Nonnatech Opens Office in Stamford

STAMFORD, Conn. — Senior citizens want to keep their independence, but relatives sometimes worry about their well-being when they're living alone. Gary German and Nonnatech, which just moved to Stamford, offer residents a compromise.

“I realized there was a need for something to be created that allowed seniors to maintain their quality of life by aging in their own homes, and allowing family members and other caregivers to monitor their loved ones,” German, president of Nonnatech Inc., said in a statement.

Nonnatech allow relatives to unobtrusively monitor their elderly loved ones via phone, computer or live video in real time throughout the day, the statement said. Using a wireless plug and play system on beds, chairs, doors, faucets and elsewhere, people are able to track behavior changes with alerts sent through text messages and emails.

German developed the system eight years ago and founded the company in 2010. He has worked in nursing homes and with the elderly in many capacities for 19 years.
