Michael Borcina, the contractor working on the home at the time of the fire and the boyfriend of the children's mother, had failed to produce documents requested in the case and seemed to have disappeared. Several of the parties being sued by the children's father, Matthew Badger, including the city of Stamford, had asked for the case to be dismissed. But with Borcina's appearance on Thursday, all parties agreed to proceed with the case, said the Connecticut Post.
Following a two-hour meeting, Borcina's attorney said he will turn over the documents and will schedule a deposition. Borcina, who was dating Madonna Badger at the time of the fire that also killed her parents, is accused of performing shoddy electric work, causing the fire, added the Connecticut Post.
