Mildred Fiore, Worked at Wahlstrom

STAMFORD, Conn. — Mildred Fiore, 87, a lifelong resident of Stamford, died on July 1 at Sunrise Senior Living. She was born on Jan. 5, 1924.

She worked as a personnel director for Wahlstrom. Fiore took pride in her Irish heritage and telling people that her great-grandfather James McNamara was the founding member of the McNamara Band from the Bing Crosby song by the same name.

Fiore is survived by her nephew, William Foley and his wife, Joan, and several other nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Felix Fiore, her daughter, Joanne Fiore, and her sister, Janet Foley.

A Mass will be celebrated Friday, July 8, at 10:30 a.m. at The Basilica of St. John the Evangelist, 279 Atlantic St., Stamford. Interment will follow at St. John’s Cemetery in Darien. Calling hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, July 7, at Lacerenza Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 8 Schuyler Ave., Stamford.
