A Mass will be held for Michele Guarna on Saturday, Dec. 11, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Bridget of Ireland Roman Catholic Church, 278 Strawberry Hill Ave., Stamford. Guarna died Dec. 8. The Stamford resident was 83 years old. Guarna was born Oct. 11, 1927, in Arena, Italy. He came to the United States in 1965. He was a longtime employee of Excelsior Hardware. His retirement from Excelsior in 1991 allowed him to spend more time to spend with his family, Guarnas favorite activity. He also liked working in his garden, as well as making pasta, sopressata and homemade wine.
Guarna is survived by his wife, Rose Capomolla Guarna; two sons, Salvatore of Stamford and Nicholas of Ansonia; a daughter, Marianna of Norwalk; a brother, a sister and six grandchildren. Following Saturdays service entombment will take place at St. John Roman Catholic Cemetery Mausoleum in Darien.
