Man Hit With Beer Bottle at Stamford Cafe

A man was hit in the back of the head with a beer bottle as he was leaving Cafe Bahia on Greenwich Avenue in Stamford just before 2 a.m. Sunday.

The victim did not know who hit him with the bottle. But he said his attacker yelled at him before the assault, Stamford police say. He was unable to describe his attacker, police say.

Paramedics called to the scene treated the man for a cut on the back of his head and transported him to Stamford Hospital.

Also in the police blotter:

• Arcenio Degracia, 54, of Stamford, was arrested at about 3:30 a.m. Sunday and charged with second-degree unlawful restraint, interfering with an emergency call, third-degree assault and disorderly conduct.

• Kevin Sauver, 19, of Stamford, was charged with operating a motor vehicle without a license, improper use of a marker and failure to register a commercial motor vehicle after a traffic stop Sunday.
