Police were flagged down Friday after a motorist said a man was lying on the sidewalk across from the Majestic Theater. Six men appeared to take something out of the man's pocket. When police arrived the man, Scott Douglas Kaplow, 24, of Dorchester Drive in Rye Brook, NY, was lying on the sidewalk at 81 Summer St. and appeared to be asleep. Two additional officers and paramedics arrived to try to help Kaplow but he became uncooperative and would not go to the hospital. Kaplow was escorted to a nearby Summer Street address he gave as the home of a friend, but nobody answered. Kaplow remained boisterous and confrontational, said police, so he was arrested and charged with breach of peace. Bond was set at $1,000 and he was given an Aug. 19 court date.
