Linda McMahon's Favorite Things About Stamford

STAMFORD, Conn. — Linda McMahon and her husband, Vince, first moved the headquarters of World Wrestling Entertainment to Stamford in the mid-1980’s.

As the former chief executive officer of the global corporation, McMahon, a Republican candidate for U.S. Senate, likes the growing business environment of the city, mentioning the coming arrival of NBC Sports Group. On a personal level, she also enjoys helping the Ferguson Library, and spending time in the vibrant downtown area as well.

McMahon received the Republican Party endorsement for the Senate seat, but will have to face former U.S. Rep. Chris Shays in an August primary.

On the Democratic side, U.S. Rep. Chris Murphy was endorsed by the Democratic Party in the Senate race, but faces Susan Bysiewicz, Connecticut's former secretary of state, in the primary.
