Holton, Former Aide to Weicker, Dies

A memorial service was held Saturday for Linda Lee Holton, who died Aug. 16 after an extended illness. Holton was a former aide to U.S. Sen. Lowell P. Weicker Jr. She was an energetic community participant, with memberships that included the board of directors of the American Red Cross' Stamford Chapter, the Stamford AIDS Task Force and the Multiple Sclerosis Society. Other memberships included the Stamford Human Rights Commission, American Association of University Women, Daughters of the American Revolution and the League of Women Voters.

She also served as a Connecticut justice of the peace and was a senior deacon at the First Congregational Church. Holton was the daughter of Eleanor Holton Yudain and the late Curtis R. Holton. She was a graduate of Windham College with a bachelor's degree. After attending the University of Barcelona, Holton enrolled in the American Studies Program at Fairfield University and completed her graduate studies there. Holton was predeceased by her stepfather, journalist Harold Yudain. She is survived by her aunt, Audrey Bakke.
