Gerardo Taboada, 57, was captured around 8:30 a.m. Thursday after Stamford Police received a tip from the Palm Beach Sheriff's Office that he may be living in an apartment, said Stamford Police Capt. Richard Conklin.
Taboada, who was also serving a probation sentence in Stamford, was quickly located through his probation officer living in a basement apartment on Plymouth Road.
Officers from the department's Organized Crime and Narcotics Unit were able to nab Taboada at the apartment without incident, Conklin said.
He was charged with five counts of fraudulent use of personal identities and one count of organized scheme to defraud between $20,000 to $50,000.
Conklin said Palm Beach deputies plan to extradite Taboada back to Florida.
