STAMFORD, Conn. -- Dennis Murphy of Stamford will serve as acting commissioner of the Connecticut Department of Labor as of Jan. 1.
“I’ve known and worked with Dennis for many years – he is an outstanding public servant," said Gov. Dannel P. Malloy. "I want to thank him for taking on a critical role.”
Murphy's appointment will last until Malloy finds a permanent successor for the retiring Sharon M. Palmer. He currently serves as deputy commissioner of the state Department of Labor and is the former director of human resources for the city of Stamford.
