Emergency Calls Released in Deadly Blaze

STAMFORD, Conn. — The three Christmas morning 911 calls reporting the Shippan Avenue fire that resulted in the deaths of two adults and three children have been made public by both WFSB and WTNH.

“There is a huge fire in the house next door to us — the whole house is on fire,” the first caller said. The caller, a woman, was then cut off, but called back to make sure the operator knew the severity of the fire and that people were in the house. She ended by saying, “Please, will you come quickly?”

The next two callers were assured by the operators that Stamford Fire & Rescue was on the way.
