Dorothy Northrop, Lifelong Stamford Resident

STAMFORD, Conn. – Dorothy Northrop, 75, died Monday, Oct. 3. The lifelong Stamford resident was born on Feb. 5, 1936.

Northrop was a homemaker for many years before going to work for General Electric Capital, where she was employed until her retirement. Northrop was devoted to her family and loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Northrop is survived by her son, Richard Northrop Jr.; three daughters, Colleen Bombace and her husband, Frank, Lisa DeLeo and Michelle Stalteri and her husband, Mario; two sisters, JoAnne Springer and Donna Kosilinski; a brother, Joseph Szczepinski, 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchilren. She was predeceased by her husband, Richard Northrop Sr.

Calling hours are Thursday, Oct. 6, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Bosak Funeral Home. A Mass  will be celebrated Friday, Oct. 7, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Clement of Rome Parish in Stamford, with interment to follow at St. John’s Roman Catholic Cemetery in Darien.

The family asks that donations be made in Northrop's memory to the Carl and Dorothy Bennett Cancer Center at Stamford Hospital.
