Dancing With the Stars Pros Open Stamford Studio

STAMFORD, Conn. — Fresh off the season finale of ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars,” Tony Dovolani, Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Valentin Chmerkovskiy were in Stamford to celebrate the opening of their fourth Dance With Me studio Wednesday night.

As with their other studios, the three professional dancers took the best from the other studios they’ve danced in around the world and put it into their Stamford location to offer a high-quality location with lessons for all.

“Just like you see on “Dancing with the Stars,” it’s all first class,” Dovolani said, adding that opening the studios was the best way to respond to all of the requests for lessons they have received with the success of the show.

In addition to Stamford being Dovolani’s former hometown, the group chose the city because of how welcome they felt when they first proposed the idea of opening a studio.

“We were welcomed with arms wide open,” Valentin Chmerkovskiy said.

Also in attendance was Peta Murgatroyd, who won Season 14 of “Dancing with the Stars” Tuesday night with teammate Donald Driver of the Green Bay Packers.

“The only risk of coming here is that you’ll become a great dancer,” Murgatroyd said.

The festivities of the night included performances from the staff of Dance With Me, as well as an open dance period. Mayor Michael Pavia also welcomed the studio to the city.

Dance With Me is on the fifth floor of 20 Summer St. It can be contacted by phone, 203-674-8100, or e-mail: stamford@dancewithmeusa.com.
