Cathy Ann Barosky-Hurley, Emmy Winner

STAMFORD, Conn. — Former Stamford resident and Emmy Award winner Cathy Ann Barosky-Hurley died on June 17. She was 54 years old and lived in Virginia.

She won multiple Emmys as an editor of ABC’s "Nightline" with Ted Koppel." During her 12 years with ABC News she won a du Pont and Peabody award as well.

The Stamford High School graduate grew up with a love for animals and rode horses and volunteered at the Stamford Museum & Nature Center as a teenager. Later she and her husband bought two horses and a small farm in Virginia where they also had dogs, cats, pigs and goats.

Barosky-Hurley is survived by her husband of 18 years, Bob Hurley; her mother, Bertha Barosky; her sister, Betsy; her brother, Edward, and a niece and nephew. She was predeceased by her father, Edward Barosky.

Funeral services were held in Virginia in June. In lieu of flowers, her family asks that donations be made to the American Heart Association or the Catlett, Va., Volunteer Fire & Rescue Squad.
