Catherine Romano, 81, of Stamford

STAMFORD, Conn. — Catherine Romano, 81, a nearly lifelong resident of Stamford, died Jan. 12. She was born on March 23, 1930, in Suffern, N.Y.

Romano is survived by her husband of 65 years, Vito Romano; three daughters, Carolyn Walker, Patricia Romano and Janice Richichi and her husband, Anthony; three sons, Vito Romano and his wife, Kathleen, Michael Romano and his wife, Cheryl, and Robert Romano and his wife, Lisa; two brothers, James Riley and John Riley; a sister, Marion Brooks, 14 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

A Mass was celebrated Tuesday at St. Cecilia’s Church in Stamford followed by interment at St. John’s Cemetery in Darien. Funeral arrangements were handled by the Lacerenza Funeral Home & Cremation Services.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Romano’s memory to the American Heart Association or to the American Diabetes Association.
