Carjacking Ends With Greenwich Crash

UPDATE: A carjacking that began in Bridgeport ended in a crash in Greenwich on Interstate 95 on Friday after a fight broke out inside the stolen car, according to published reports.Police said three suspects entered the car and ordered the driver to take them to New York. As the car was between Exits 2 and 3 in Greenwich at about 5 p.m., the driver tried to escape and a carjacker's gun fired, police said. No one was hurt, but the car crashed and the occupants fled, according to police. Police said three suspects were apprehended.Nicole Bowen, of Bridgeport, and Tye Thomas, of the Bronx, N.Y., were charged with first-degree robbery, first-degree kidnapping with a firearm, reckless endangerment and third-degree assault, according to state police. Dashawn L. Perry, of Yonkers, N.Y., was charged with first-degree robbery, kidnapping with a firearm, reckless endangerment and assault, according to police.Two lanes of the southbound highway were closed for about four and a half hours as police investigated, backing up traffic for several miles.

Metro-North Railroad's New Haven Line was also shut down briefly because of the police activity.
