The events begin at 11 a.m. at the Stamford Museum & Nature Center at 39 Scofieldtown Road in Stamford, according to a press release. Children can touch a truck and parents can taste and vote for their favorite chili during the afternoon events, according to the release.
"Families will have the opportunity to get up close and personal with some cool larger-than-life vehicles," representatives said in the release. "They will also be able to find out how these trucks work, what purposes they serve, and climb inside a few."
The chili cook-off will feature more than a dozen teams competing and helping to raise money for the museum and The Food Bank of Lower Fairfield County, according to the release.
"For a suggested donation of $10 per person (ages 9 and under are free) or the donation of a bag of non-perishable food items, everyone can taste each competitor's chili and vote for their favorite," representatives said in the release. "This year’s competitors include a team from the Stamford High School marching band and Hunter Zampa of Stamford, who recently appeared on the Food Network’s "Rachel vs. Guy Kids Cook-Off."
