Teens Raise Over $2K for Stamford Library

What better place to read than a library – and 31 Stamford teens did just that last month to raise $2,100 for the Ferguson Library. Their “Read a Book, Save a Library” event was held at the Harry Bennett Branch on March 25, a release said.

The event was run by T-MAD (Teens Making a Difference), the library’s teen advisory group. Members group collected donations and sponsorships, then came to the branch after it closed at 6 p.m. and stayed until midnight reading.

T-MAD collected $1,858 the night of the event, and the remaining funds were donated afterward. The success of the event has members considering doing it again next year.

This was the first fundraising effort T-MAD has run on its own. The group includes middle school and high school students.
