Zampa, making his second appearance on the Food Network, topped three other teens ages 13 to 16 to win "Chopped: Teen Talent."
Just like on the adult version of "Chopped," competitors have to make an appetizer, entrée and a dessert from scratch, using unrelated "mystery" ingredients.
Zampa had to prepare an appetizer with broccoli rabe, a cherry-flavored drink, swordfish and tiger figs; an entrée with filet mignon, heirloom tomatoes, jarred black truffles and toaster pastries; and a dessert with cotton candy grapes, cream cheese, salt bagels and strawberry mints.
The episode featuring Zampa will air again on Food Network at 9 p.m. Dec. 28 and at midnight Dec. 29.
