The clinic is seeking volunteers who are fluent in Spanish and English to screen patients for eligibility and to serve as interpreters. Volunteers are needed to work one four-hour shift a month on Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Thursday afternoons.
"The mobile clinic is on the road three days a week making scheduled stops on Stamford’s East Side, West Side and in the Waterside neighborhood, providing primary care services to low-income Stamford and Darien residents without health insurance," representatives said. "The clinic, which opened in January, is the only free clinic in Stamford where nearly one out of every five residents is uninsured."
AmeriCares operates free clinics in Norwalk, Bridgeport and Danbury, Conn., serving nearly 3,000 Fairfield County residents annually.
