The evening provided guests with an opportunity to celebrate Stamford Hospital’s ongoing commitment to building a healthier community, and has raised $5.4 million since its inception. This year, the gala raised over $700,000, which will help supplement the cost of acquiring the latest technology, sustaining the hospital's core medical programs and enhancing its patient-centered services.

Attendees rubbed elbows with celebrities throughout the evening, including two-time special guest and emcee Jeff Rossen, national investigative correspondent for NBC’s "Today" show and leader of the “Rossen Reports” investigative unit. Guests were also treated to a live performance by The Stingers Band, a versatile party and dance band based out of Manhattan.

In addition to dinner and dancing, the Dream Ball featured a live auction, Giving Tree and a Paddle Raise. This year, funds from the Paddle Raise helped to support the hospital’s Cardiac Rehabilitation Program, which helps patients with heart disease learn how to exercise safely, improve their stamina and strengthen muscles.

In order for guests to get a better sense of why this program is so important, Stamford resident Martine Curto shared an emotional and personal story – detailing her own heart attack experience while training for a triathlon as well as the sudden passing of her husband from a heart attack earlier this year.

“As we reflect on the event’s history, it has been an honor to watch the Dream Ball grow over the last 10 years and transform into this truly elegant gala which helps to maintain and extend the Hospital’s current programs and services that have touched all of our lives one way or another,” said Chris Riendeau, senior vice president, fund development, Stamford Hospital Foundation. “With the new Stamford Hospital now well under way, it is exciting to envision what the next 10 years will bring as our role in healthcare is constantly evolving so that we can meet the needs of our growing community for generations to come.”
