Stamford Firm to be Honored for Volunteerism

STAMFORD, Conn. — The Volunteer Center of Southwestern Connecticut will honor Building and Land Technology and its President Paul Kuehner for the work it has done to help the community at the 2012 Heart of Gold Award on Thursday night in Stamford.

The Heart of Gold Award was established in 1995 by the organization to acknowledge chief executives who add volunteerism into their business plans, the Volunteer Center’s website said. Kuehner and Building and Land Technology will be joining previous winners from other local companies, including Pitney Bowes, GE and Deloitte, the website said.

The award presentation will come at the annual dinner held at Harbor Point’s Commons Park from 6 to 9 p.m. In addition to dinner and the awards, there will be entertainment and celebrity emcee Dave Price, former CBS weather anchor.

The Volunteer Center strives to form partnerships between volunteers and organizations in need to improve the communities of Darien, Greenwich, Stamford and New Canaan.
