STAMFORD, Conn. St. Johns Lutheran Church is looking to help Stamford residents create the best jack-o-lanterns around when it transforms its front yard into a pumpkin patch beginning Saturday.
The church will offer pumpkins of all different sizes, shapes and prices, a church. The addition of hay, scarecrows, and more decorations will make the patch a scenic place for photos.
There will also be a quilt raffle for the Lutheran World Relief mission, and a portion of the proceeds from pumpkin sales will be given to the Shelter for the Homeless and Food Bank.
The pumpkin patch will be open for business from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, 11:30 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, and 3 to 5 p.m. during the week, from Oct. 15 until Oct. 31. The church is located at 884 Newfield Ave., in Stamford.
