Names New Partner

STAMFORD, Conn. — Eliot M. Bassin has become the first non-Bregman to be named a partner in the Stamford-based accounting firm Bregman & Co. The firm's other partners are the father-son duo Herbert A. Bregman and Owen W. Bregman.

“Eliot has been made partner because he’s talented and deserves this. We’re growing and planning for the future. This is a move for our succession, and we are positioned for growth,” Owen Bregman said in a statement.

Bassin, 29, previously worked in Washington, D.C., with KPMG, an audit, tax and advisory services firm, and with a smaller firm in the Washington area. His clients included private companies, nonprofit organizations and government agencies, the release said. The other firm was not named in the release.

He graduated from George Washington University and holds a master's in taxation from Baruch College’s Zicklin School of Business.

The accounting firm traces its roots in the Stamford area to the 1940s. It began operating under its current ownership in 1977.
