Senior Center Thanks Stamford with a Party

STAMFORD, Conn. - Jeanne Franklin says the Stamford Senior Center's upcoming 15th birthday party will honor all the people who helped start the center and have worked to provide activities and services for the town's seniors.

The senior center holds its celebration on Nov. 17 at the Italian Center. The night will honor several people who have helped the center along the way.

The center will give a special honor to former State Rep. Christel Truglia, Pitney Bowes Director Polly O’Brien Morrow, and senior center trustee Wilbur Miller. Mayor Michael Pavia is also on the guest list and former New York Mets manager Bobby Valentine will emcee the event.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for the senior center to honor the people who helped establish, and have continuously supported, our efforts to serve seniors,” board member John Moses said in the release.

The senior center offers activities and services for Stamford residents over 50 from 9 to 4 p.m., the release said.

The celebration is from 5 to 7:30 p.m. and the Italian Center is located at 1620 Newfield Ave. in Stamford.
