Running and Bobby V Highlight Stamford Weekend

STAMFORD, Conn. — Hey Stamford, are you looking for something to do this weekend? Here are a few events going on in the city you may want to check out.

Friday, Jan. 27

? 7 p.m.: Stamford’s Temple Sinai will have the Founder of Interfaith.com, Edmund Case, speaking about changing attitudes toward interfaith marriage in the Jewish Community. Temple Sinai is located at 458 Lakeside Drive. No price is mentioned for the event.

? 8 p.m.: Don’t miss the last weekend of Curtain Call’s production of “When We are Married,” with shows Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. and a final show Sunday at 2 p.m. The show will be in the Dressing Room Theater, 1349 Newfield Ave. Tickets range from $14 to $18 and can be purchased on Curtain Call’s website.

Saturday, Jan. 28

? 11 a.m.: Need some help in the kitchen? Stamford’s Fairway Market will have its experts sharing some of their tips and meeting with people this Saturday. Fairway Market is at 699 Canal St.

? 2 p.m.: Running fans will be in for a treat at the Fairfield County Interscholastic Athletic Conference indoor track championships. Eastern and Central division events will take place at Wilton High School, 495 Danbury Road. Western Division competitions will be at Staples High School, 70 North Ave., Westport.

? 2 p.m.:  Get the Kibbles 'n Bits ready as the Marvelous Mutts bring their tricks and stunts to the Ferguson Library. The event will take place at the main library downtown, 1 Library Plaza, Stamford.

? 6:30 p.m.: Warm up your singing voices for Havdalah Karaoke at Temple Sinai. The suggested donations are as follows: Musical Debut $36, Rising Star $72, Broadway Baby $136, Headliner $180. Children under 10 are free.

Sunday, Jan. 29

? 9 a.m.: If the indoor track championships was not enough running for you, check out the second leg of the Boston Build Up 15k race. The event is in Ridgefield at Scotland Elementary School, 111 Barlow Mountain Road.

? 1:30 p.m.: Movie buffs should head over to the Ferguson Library for its International Film Festival. The library will show three hours of short films from all over the world in the auditorium of the main library downtown.

? 5:30 p.m.: With no football until Feb. 5, why not talk a little baseball with Stamford native and current Boston Red Sox manager Bobby Valentine and sports radio host Ed Randall? The two will be at Rippowam Middle School, 381 High Ridge Road, Stamford, raising money for cancer research. The event is sponsored by Fans 4 the Cure. Tickets are available at Bobby V’s Sports Gallery, online for $40, or $50 at the door.
