The event, hosted by the Lyme Research Alliance, is part of its commitment to prevention, education, treatment and research activities related to Lyme and other tick-borne diseases. The incidence of Lyme disease continues to rise in our state, especially among children.

The 5K Walk/Run covers a flat loop on neighborhood roads, ending back inside the park. Children can race on a loop course of their own inside the park, and there will also be a ceremonial one-loop course for Lyme patients.

Registration will open at 7:30 a.m. for the 9 a.m. walk/run. Awards program and festivities begin at 10:45 a.m. The cost is $20 per person before April 27 or $25 on the day of the event. For families, up to six people in the same household can register for $65  before April 27 or $70 on the day of event.

The event will be held rain or shine. Participants can take a free shuttle to the park from the Stamford train station at 7:55 a.m.
