Pet Adoption Day to be Held in Stamford

STAMFORD, Conn. —Stamford Animal Rescue will be providing potential pet owners a chance to meet a new four-legged friend at its Adoption Day on Saturday, May 5.

The animals will be at the event at High Ridge Shopping Center, from noon to 3 p.m., and are only available for viewing at the adoption days, a press release said. There will also be volunteers to answer any questions about the animals and adoption.

The group will also be promoting its Pet Food Pantry, which supplies food for pets whose families are in financial crisis. Pet owners will have to fill out an application, which can be found online, to ensure that pantry food goes only those in need.

Stamford Animal Rescue also will be accepting donations in cash, pet food, or supplies, the release said.

Other groups assisting Stamford Animal Rescue with the adoption days include: Adopt-A-Dog of Greenwich, Bully Breed, Guardian Angel Rescue, animalsRfamily and Volunteer Square.

The organizations will be holding similar events on the first Saturday of every month until Aug. 4 at the High Ridge center. For further information visit the STARescue website
