Patriot Bank is spreading the holiday cheer by accepting toy donations at all of its branches across Fairfield and Westchester counties to support the Westport-based nonprofit Al’s Angels.

Patriot Bank is additionally donating 100 new toys, one on behalf of each of its employees.

Al’s Angels provides holiday meals and gifts every year, as well as life-saving medical treatment, to more than 9,000 children and families challenged by cancer, rare blood diseases, AIDS and domestic violence.

The nonprofit organization was founded in 2004 by Westport resident Al DiGuido, founder and chief executive officer of marketing firm Zeta Interactive, who served as a board member of numerous charities for many years. Through his work, he learned about the high number of children and families struggling with financial difficulties in the wake of affording treatments for cancers, rare blood diseases and other illnesses.

Al’s Angels was born after he decided to devote even more of his time to helping these families.

Patriot Bank is accepting donations through Dec. 18 at the following branch locations:

  • Darien: 233 Post Road
  • Fairfield: 1755 Black Rock Turnpike
  • Greenwich: 100 Mason St.
  • Norwalk: 16 River St.
  • Stamford: 900 Bedford St.
  • Trumbull: 945 White Plains Road
  • Westport: 370 Post Road East
  • Bedford: 432 Old Post Road
  • Scarsdale: 495 Central Park Ave.

Donations are being accepted from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Fridays and 9 a.m. to noon Saturdays.

“Patriot Bank is dedicated to serving local communities, and collecting toys for children in need is one of many ways that Patriot shows by doing. It’s so important that we come together to uplift those who need a helping hand, especially our neighbors facing hardships this holiday season,” said Ken Neilson, Patriot Bank president and chief executive officer.
