'On Golden Pond' To Make a Splash in Stamford

STAMFORD, Conn. — Stamford residents Roger Dykeman and Nancy Thode join a cast of local actors in Curtain Call’s production of “On Golden Pond” set to open later this week.

Ernest Thompson’s play focuses on Norman and Ethel Thayer as they make their annual trek to their New England home and receive an unexpected visit from their daughter, her fiancé and his son, a Curtain Call release said.

Since first hitting Broadway in 1979, “On Golden Pond,” has won many awards for the stage and movie versions. Awards include the Drama Desk Award, a Tony Award for Best Revival of a Play in 2005, three Oscars and two Golden Globes.

The play will be performed Thursdays, Friday and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. from May 4 through May 20 in the Dressing Room Theatre. The doors will open an hour before showtime. Audience members may bring their own food and drinks for cabaret-style seating.

Tickets are $28 for adults, $20 for senior citizens and $14 for students/children. On Thrifty Thursdays, all seats are $18. Tickets can be purchased online or by calling 203-461-6358.
