Madeline Hunter, 84, Stamford Hospital Clerk

STAMFORD, Conn. – Madeline Marie Hunter, 84, a longtime resident of Stamford, died Sunday, April 15, at the Tandet Center after a long illness.  

She was born Feb. 15, 1928, in Brooklyn, the daughter of the late Daniel J. and Louise Depperman Farrell. Hunter moved to Stamford as a child and graduated from Stamford High School. She worked as a medical records specialist at Stamford Hospital for 37 years. Hunter was a parishioner of Star of the Sea Roman Catholic Church. 

In addition to her career at Stamford Hospital, she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, leaving a wealth of memories for her family. 

Hunter was predeceased by a brother, Edward; two sisters, Louise and Audrey; and a son, David. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Everett; two sons, James (Jean) and Paul (Lorraine); six grandchildren and two great-grandsons.  

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at Leo P. Gallagher and Son Funeral Home in Stamford. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home, with Msgr. Edward Surwilo officiating. Burial will follow at Woodland Cemetery.
