The class will be Friday, April 5, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Stamford Government Center, with a fishing trip scheduled for Great Hollow Park on May 4. Call 203-977-5214 to register. The Connecticut Aquatic Resources Education, or CARE, is offered by the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection.
The course will include safety tips, casting practice and teach you to identify, clean, cook or release your catch. Instruction and materials are offered for free. You can use CARE's fishing gear during class.
