Downtown Stamford Moves to Fill Retail Space

STAMFORD, Conn. – Stamford’s Downtown District is looking to fill empty store space with its 2011 Retail Advancement Program.

A grant of up to $50,000 from Stamford Downtown will be matched by a $50,000 contribution from landlords to assist qualified applicants who sign a five-year lease, a Stamford Downtown Special Services District press release said.

Only street-level space inside the district will qualify for the program. Applicants must be product retail to be eligible, the release said. Non-retail applicants such as entertainment, restaurants, and service are excluded.
