Curtain Call Honors Broadway-Bound Stamford Teen

STAMFORD, Conn. — The shows wouldn't go on at Curtain Call Productions without its volunteers, and the theater company recently took time out to honor three for their contributions. They were Carol Foley of Norwalk, Danny Ward of Stamford and John Atkin of Norwalk, a press release said.

Foley, who was named adult Volunteer of the Year, has become a regular member of the stage management team and a member of the props department's renovation team, the release said.

Ward, a sophomore at King Low Heywood Thomas School, was named the youth Volunteer of the Year. He has helped in some capacity in many of the productions at the community theater and will soon take his talents to Broadway in "Godspell 2032," the release said.

"He is truly an amazing young man whose participation on our Youth Board has been stellar and his performances, amazing,” Lou Ursone, executive director of Curtain Call, said in the release.

In addition to serving on and behind stage, Atkin is treasurer of Curtain Call. He received the Leadership Award for his efforts.

This year Curtain Call received over 25,000 volunteer hours to put on over 150 performances, the release said. The reception took place on April 29.
