Ballet Troupe Plans a Fashion Fundraiser

Baby needs a new pair of ballet slippers! A “Tea for Tutus” afternoon of fashion, tea and dancing is on tap to benefit the Stamford-based Classic Dance Theatre Company.

The tea is the fourth annual fundraiser for Classic Dance. It will be held at the Burning Tree Country Club in Greenwich on Sunday, April 10, from noon to 4 p.m. Classic Dance, based in Stamford, is a non-profit ballet troupe dedicated to creating new choreography based on classic literary works. At the fundraiser, you’ll get a sneak peek at the company’s works as dancers perform excerpts from “Cinderella” and “The Diary of Anne Frank.”

The fashion show will feature company supporters of all ages modeling the latest styles from Fox’s in Stamford, B CHIC in Wilton, and Lulumon Athletica, Lilly Pulitzer, Wishlist and Marietta C of Greenwich. The company’s youngest dancers will model costumes inspired by ballets based on storybooks and fantasy. The costumes will be supplied by Beam & Barre.

“Tea for Tutus” is $60 for adults, $50 for 65 and older and $40 for under 17. Proper attire is required. For reservations and more information, contact by email or call (203) 978-0727. Seating is limited and reservations are required by April 4.
