Azalee 'Mickey' Fitchben, 78, of Stamford

STAMFORD, Conn. – Azalee "Mickey" G. Fitchben, a resident of Stamford for more than 56 years, died May 27. She was 78. 

The daughter of Eugene and Bertha Means Griffin, she was born Nov. 15, 1933 in Newberry, S.C.  Fitchben worked at Northeast Utilities for 15 years. She also worked as a private duty nurse for more than 20 years. 

Fitchben is survived by a daughter, Joyce Griffin, of Stamford; two sisters, Marie G. Taylor, of Norwalk, and Vera Griffin, of Columbia, S.C. and three grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Steven Griffin. 

The family will receive friends and relatives from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday at Bosak Funeral Home in Stamford. A funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. on Saturday at Greater Faith Tabernacle Baptist Church in Stamford. Burial will immediately follow at Long Ridge Union Cemetery in Stamford.
